Presidents Report
A great day was had by all who attended at Southern Golf Club on Monday 3rd July 23. Thank you to our starters who had the field well organised, Peter Ross, Yvonne Daniel and Roger Selwood. Good Job and a big thank you.
We had 61 players including two guests. Alan Bennie guest of Peter Garbellini. Mark Slatter guest of Russel Montgomery. Both received a complimentary ball. Hopefully both will join our wonderful club.
We have a couple of people on our sick list. David Vine and Bill Heron whom we wish a speedy recovery. Will contact our two members in the next day or so. When I find out some news I will be in touch with you all.
Challenge game
A challenge game between the Eastern Vets and Victorian Vets golf is to be held on Monday 16th October at Waterford Valley. It will be a shotgun start at 8am with Sandwiches provided. Please keep this day in your diary as it will be something special. Plenty of door prizes and nearest the pins.We hope to have between 80 to 100 players. Will keep you advised.

Overall winner
Colin Holmes (27) with 41 points won the House of Golf Mentone Trophy
Colin received a $40 House of Golf voucher for this effort.

Allan Logan celebrated a good day at Southern by winning the door prize of a round for 4 at Southern.

A significant event
A woman takes her 16-year-old daughter to the doctor. The
doctor asks,
"Okay, Mrs. Jones, what's the problem?"
The mother says, "It's my daughter Carla, she keeps getting these
cravings, she's putting on weight and is sick most mornings."
The doctor gives Carla a good examination then turns to the mother and
says,
"Well, I don't know how to tell you this but your Carla is pregnant -
about 4 months would be my guess."
The mother says, "Pregnant?! She can't be, she has never ever been
left alone with a man! Have you Carla?" Carla says, "No
mother! I've never even kissed a man!"
I'll be darned if I'm going to miss it this time!"
The doctor walks over to the window and just stares out it. About five minutes pass and finally the mother says, "Is there something wrong out there doctor?"
The doctor replies, "No, not really, it's just that the last time anything like this happened, a star appeared in the east and three wise men came over the hill.
