Under blue skies with a cool breeze the Vets members fronted the Rosebud Country Club course to play for the Ray Underwood Trophy.
The course was in beautiful condition considering the Winter season which resulted in good scores. The members thanked the Rosebud Club for hosting and their hospitality for the day.
There were 49 golfers tee off on a well arranged shotgun start by Captain Jeff, along with Peter, Phil, and Roger anchoring the morning.
We had two guests who enjoyed the day, Garry Laird guest of Trevor McGilton and Terry Garrett guest of Peter Garbellini. It was great to see John Matthews tee off while holidaying back in Victoria after moving to Queensland.
A guest from our tournament at Southern, Gina Thorne has now joined the Club therefore increasing our lady members.
Our sponsors of the club - House of Golf and Jimmy Jams would appreciate your support.
The CoM are still looking for someone to fill our Marketing role for 2023, is there a member interested.
Our next tournament is at Lang Lang Golf Course on Monday 5th of September with a shotgun start, some members may wish to double up in vehicles.
Remember that when you view the members contact list, the home suburb shows and this can help if looking for a geographically convenient member with whom to share a ride.
The Club's web site has been invaded by a malicious child-like person who seems to take joy in mucking up our online booking sheets.
The registered players for the next two events are completely out of kilter with our real intentions. Fortunately Captain Jeff has the green sheet and an earlier printout for Lang Lang and will be able to resurrect the data as of the time of the printout. However, you can save Jeff work by checking the booking sheet for your bookings for both events and ensuring your details are correct.
The last time we suffered from this embarrassment the booking sheet was visible to anyone and we introduced passwords based on the golf club system, but made a little more complex. It may be that this is still too insecure and we should use a stronger password. Please advise the webmaster here if you have any thoughts on this.

A drover from a huge cattle station in the outback appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates.
"Have you ever done anything of particular merit?" St. Peter asked.
"Well, I can think of one thing." the drover offered,
"On a trip to the back blocks of Broken Hill out in New South Wales, I came across a gang of bikers who were threatening a young sheila. I told them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen.
So I approached the largest and most heavily tattooed bikie and smacked him in his face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground.
I yelled, "Now, back off!! Or I'll kick the shit out of the lot of ya!"
St. Peter was impressed, "When did this happen?"
"A couple of minutes ago."
